School districts are mandated by law to identify children ages birth-21 who may be in need of special educational services. District 26 asks all parents with children between the ages of birth - 4 years old to complete a preschool census questionnaire. The questionnaires are reviewed by District 26 professional staff to determine students who may be eligible for a screening. Children, age's birth through two years of age, will be referred to the Child and Family Connections Agency for screening. Screenings for children ages 3-4 are typically held the first Friday of the month and are conducted by Cary District 26 staff. Preschool screening provides an opportunity for staff to look at a child's development and to determine if there is a need for in-depth evaluation.NOTE: All preschool census forms are available below. Preschool census forms can be mailed/dropped off at District 26 Administration Center, 2115 Crystal Lake Rd, Cary.
